Domain Name Choice and Registration
You will need a domain name (ie website name) for your site. You will also need to arrange web hosting - that is 'renting' your little bit of the web where your site sits. Some clients, particularly if they have been through the process before, choose to take their design and deal with domain name registration and web hosting themselves. But for many the prospect can be daunting. Both these services can be organised for you by Waving Moose.

Search Engine Optimisation
At Waving Moose we cannot guarantee the performance of your website and how much business you will get from it. But we will do our best to help you get the most from it. Everybody wants to be at the top of the list in Google and other search engines. That's why not everybody can be! But there are things you can do to help improve your position. This is referred to as SEO - Search Engine Optimisation.
There are numerous companies out there who offer SEO services - and they will charge you appropriately for it! There are also possibilities for paying to generate traffic and improving search engine ranking - eg Google Adwords. At Waving Moose we do our best to give your site a good chance by designing it with optimised content in mind in the first place - including appropriate text content and embedded coding (keywords, meta tags etc.). We will also submit your site for indexing to all major search engines, including Google and Yahoo (this is a helpful step to alert them to your site, although it does not guarantee position).

If you choose to have us host your website, our Basic Annual Web Hosting Package offers 12 months domain registration, basic maintenance and support. Throughout the year we will check that your site is running properly. Troubleshooting, error correction and minor tweaks or text amendments are included. If you need more major changes - an additional section or page for instance - we will agree a price with you based on development time involved (at £18 per hour).
If you are keen to keep your website current and updated, you may prefer our Annual Web Hosting Plus Package which includes up to 10 hours development time during the year (representing a reduction of a third off our usual rates), as well as statistical reporting about how your website is being used.

No doubt you have an e-mail account in use already. You can also have an e-mail address or addresses associated with your website (eg info@websitename.com, contact@websitename.com etc). All mail received at these addresses will be automatically redirected to the destination e-mail account you specify (ie your normal e-mail address). This feature is included in our web hosting packages.
